Profession: Composer / keyboards player
Bio: Charlie Lewis (aka Charlie San) is a composer and keyboards player living in London. He draws on a broad range of influences — classical music from the Renaissance to the present day; folk music traditions from around the world, blues based genres such as jazz and soul; and the sound system culture of hiphop, house, jungle and dub. A former scholar of the world-renowned Choir of Trinity College Cambridge, Charlie has more than 25 years’ experience performing and recording, having played sessions for Portico Quartet, Lady Leshurr, Earl Sixteen, Solo Banton, Resonators and Bad Science (feat. Dizraeli and Beardyman) amongst many others. Forthcoming work includes composing and performing keyboards on Fawn’s debut album, co-writing Trace the lines for Danny Ladwa’s new album (produced by Gaudi), and composing the soundtrack for Marq Castillo’s new short, Last.
